In the 1850s, Dietrich Bohls set off to find a new home away from the hustle and bustle of Austin (busy for the time, of course, with a population of 900). He was looking for a quiet place to raise his family. Fortunately, he didn’t need to travel far. Mr. Bohls established his new home at the confluence of Barton Creek and Little Barton Creek, in what would later be established at Bee Cave, TX.
